Are you a medical student passionate about adolescent medicine? Our Adolescent Medicine Pathway is tailored to help you excel in providing comprehensive care for patients aged 10-25.

What to Expect:

Focused Expertise: You'll gain expertise in the unique health needs of adolescents, ensuring you provide evidence-based care and make accurate diagnoses and treatment plans for common conditions in this age group.

Effective Communication: As resident in this pathway, you'll enhance your ability to communicate effectively with adolescent patients, building trust and ensuring better health outcomes. You'll also learn to navigate the complex laws related to caring for adolescents.

Diverse Rotations: Experience a range of specialized rotations, including:

  • Adolescent Psychiatry with Dr. LaDoris Warren at LeBonheur
  • Adolescent GYN with Dr. Claudette Jones-Shephard
  • STI Clinic at the Shelby County Health Department

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with dietitians on eating disorders, participate in SAHM virtual sessions, and complete AAFP’s Child and Adolescent Health Self-Study CME (25h CME), broadening your understanding and approach to adolescent health.

Mentorship and Leadership: Collaborate with experts, gaining leadership experience and contributing to scholarly projects. You'll also engage in activities with the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine, staying at the forefront of adolescent healthcare advancements.
