Global Health Pathway
This pathway expands upon the global health elective to give participants a broader understanding of global health challenges and important ethical considerations for doing international work. The pathway requires two global health electives, one local and one international, completion of self-paced learning activities, and attendance at quarterly meetings.
Required Rotations:
Community Based Global Health Elective – Residents will gain experience in refugee health, travel health, and disease management, including HIV and tuberculosis. Required reading will be assigned to supplement clinical sites.
International Global Health Elective – This rotation is currently based in Kijabe, Kenya with additional sites in development.

Quarterly Pathway Meetings:
Activities to include journal club and guest speakers.
Global Health Conference:
Although not required, it is highly recommended for participants in the global health pathway to attend a global health conference, such as the annual AAFP Global Health Summit.
Certificate Of Completion:
Residents will receive a certificate of completion upon graduation from this track.
