Didactics
Our program is committed to rigorous academic activities. Formal didactics occurs every Wednesday afternoon at Baptist Memorial Hospital's library and conference rooms.
Below is a sample schedule:
First Wednesday: Journal Club, Resident clinical talk, protected time with Program Psychologist, Resident led wellness.
Second Wednesday: Procedural Workshops, Simulation Lab Cases, or Point of Care Ultrasound Training
Third Wednesday: Clinical Talks by Program Faculty, Guest Attendings, and Board Review
Fourth Wednesday: Resident and Faculty Meetings, resident led Case Reports, Clinical Guidelines Talk
Fifth Wednesday: Practice Management and Morbidity & Mortality Conferences
Our program is very receptive to resident feedback. The didactics committee is comprised of junior and senior residents, faculty, and support staff, and guides didactics activities. All residents give a talk at least twice a year. Those residents who are a part of the Academic Medicine Pathway present more frequently. As a program, we are committed to making didactics engaging and worthwhile.
