Prashanth Bhat, MD, MPH, AAHIVS

Dr. Bhat joined our program as core faculty in Spring 2023. He is trained in Family Medicine, HIV Medicine, and Clinical Epidemiology. He is the faculty advisor of our Medical Education track, His interests are health equity and finding community based solutions to global health problems. His research focuses on health disparities, expanding access to quality care, and medical education. He firmly believes in the prevention continuum of health and strives to make primary care the cornerstone of healthcare. He is passionate about teaching via role modeling. He has been an academic mentor to numerous physicians over the past two decades. Originally from Bangalore, India, he calls Memphis home and lives with his wife who is an acclaimed interventional cardiologist and their children.
